There are times in the believer’s life that feel like all is known is the darkened state of the heart. Downcast, discouraged, depressed, despairing.

But trust in Christ means we have a hope to look toward in any circumstance. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). We know that when all looks bleak, we hope in the Lord—the maker of heavens and earth, the owner of the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:12).
In those dark nights of the soul, cry out to the Lord and seek His face—He has already bought you through the blood of Christ and paid your debt with His righteousness. That is the only hope to cling to in the pit. Remember the God of your salvation in that dark night, sister.
