“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:4-10
Saving you from your sin is not insurmountable for the Lord. His blood is more than able to cover you (and the only thing that can)—you need only believe on Him and trust in His name alone. Be assured, saint, that trusting in Christ alone is the sole payment.
Scripture gives us a progression of our need for salvation and how that is accomplished by faith in Christ through the book of Romans:
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23)
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23)
“God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom 5:8)
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation” (Rom 10:9–10)
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Rom 10:13
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom 5:1)
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus” (Rom 8:1)
Though our sin is great against a holy God, Christ’s mercy to His own is more.
An ending note on Jesus’ work on the cross:
“For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.” Galatians 2:19-21
