“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” —Revelation 7:9-10
All people are made in God’s image, therefore we are to love and care for all people. There is either death in Adam or life in Christ for a man, no matter the differences our sinful hearts find reasons over which to bite and devour one another. This truth from God’s Word should inform our thoughts, actions and words; sincerely loving brother and neighbor, preaching the Gospel, making disciples and serving, not to turn brothers or neighbors away as if to say “be warmed and filled” without actually caring for needs.
This line is taken from the hymn “Arise, My Soul, Arise.” It’s as true now as it was written 278 years ago when this concept was much more controversial than it is today.
“He ever lives above, For me to intercede; His all redeeming love, His precious blood, to plead; His blood atoned for every race, His blood atoned for every race, And sprinkles now the throne of grace.”
Our hope is that this tee might serve as a remind of the truth that “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).
