The most popular book published in English, second only to the Bible, is John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress.
And for good reason—it chronicles the universally relatable journey of the elect to eternal rest.
This beautiful map of Christian’s journey was published in 1813. We are so so excited to offer a high quality reproduction of it to have in your homes. May it serve as a reminder of the sovereignty of God in your regeneration and throughout your life, whether you are in the pit, fighting temptation, facing persecution or finishing the race and entering into Glory. ❤️
Fun fact: the original artist is actually unknown. This illustrated map of Christian’s journey was published and sold by John Pitts (This blows my mind!) but the artist is a mystery to this day.
I mean, listen to Spurgeon’s endorsement: “Next to the Bible, the book I value most is John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress. I believe I have read it through at least a hundred times. It is a volume of which I never seem to tire; and the secret of its freshness is that it is so largely compiled from the Scriptures.” Those are some high marks.
