To remind you of the example we find in Christ to let love cover…

1 Peter 4:8:

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

These beautiful reminders of truth are handmade by local potters at Black Oak Art. They are:

As we navigate the fallenness of our world as wives, mothers, friends, sisters and daughters, the answer is often to let love cover. This can be so difficult to choose amidst the hurt and conflict but the Lord tells us “a still more excellent way” to love and serve the Body (1 Cor. 12-13): to love one another.

“Where love is thin, there faults are always thick. Wherever there is true love in the heart, we make many apologies and allowances for the weaknesses and infirmities of our friends. Often, we cannot see the faults in them; and when we know they are there, we go backward, like the godly sons of Noah, and cover the nakedness upon which we will not think of looking, “for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.”

Spurgeon on 1Peter 4:8

“It is not enough for Christians not to bear malice, nor to have common respect for one another, they must intensely and fervently love each other. (3.) It is the property of true charity to cover a multitude of sins. It inclines people to forgive and forget offences against themselves, to cover and conceal the sins of others, rather than aggravate them and spread them abroad.

Matthew Henry on 1 Peter 4:8
